Michael is passionate about innovation and decreasing the barrier to entrepreneurialism. He has spent his career working in the startup industry, has an extensive technical background, and has led various product teams. He finds the passion of the team and the mission behind Nicolette inspiring.
Michael brings over 25 years of experience in academic medicine to Nicolette, striving to accomplish the healthcare Quadruple Aim: better patient outcomes, improved patient experience, improved experience for the clinical care team, and lower cost of healthcare delivery.
Michael has promoted the quadruple aim through research, innovation, and business leadership. He holds ten years of service in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Chicago and 15 years of combined service with the University of Colorado Department of Pediatrics & Children’s Hospital Colorado Research Institute and Center for Innovation.
Michael is currently an independent healthcare consultant and developer of new products. He holds a Bachelor of Finance and a Master’s of E-Commerce Technology degrees, both from DePaul University.
Dr. Andrey Ostrovsky is a social entrepreneur and practicing physician. He served as the Chief Medical Officer for the Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS). Prior to working for Medicaid, he co-founded and sold his software company, Care at Hand, an award-winning predictive analytics platform that used insights of non-medical staff to prevent aging people from being hospitalized. Dr. Ostrovsky has served on several boards and committees dedicated to interoperability standards, quality improvement and measurement, and innovation including the National Quality Forum, Office of the National Coordinator, and the Commonwealth Fund. Prior to Care at Hand, he led teams at the World Health Organization, United States Senate, and San Francisco Health Department toward health system strengthening through technology.
Andrey holds a Medical Doctorate and undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and Psychology Magna cum Laude from Boston University and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Andrey completed his pediatrics residency training in the Boston Combined Residency Program at Boston Medical Center and Boston Children’s Hospital where he was a clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School. He is currently teaching faculty and attending physician at Children’s National Medical Center.
Liz has spent over half of her 35-year career in president or CEO roles in both the health care and property and casualty insurance industries. She has significant experience in acquisitions and start-ups, and currently advises early stage companies and CEO’s/Boards on leadership, growth and operational excellence. Liz became a Nicolette Advisor because of her desire to help improve patient experiences and outcomes.
